From 15th to 17th May 2025, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) undertook an official visit to Nepal.
- During his visit, he took part in the first edition of the ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’, a global dialogue forum initiated by the Government of Nepal and held in Kathmandu.
- The Sagarmatha Sambaad aims to highlight and address issues of global, regional, and national significance, focusing especially on climate and environmental challenges.
Main Point :- (i) Union Minister Bhupender Yadav represented India at the inaugural ceremony, reaffirming India’s commitment to collaborative regional efforts in climate action and environmental conservation.
(ii) At the event, he presented a detailed five-point call for global action to protect fragile mountain ecosystems, emphasizing the urgency of safeguarding these vulnerable regions.
