Arunabha Ghosh Appointed as South Asia Envoy for COP-30 Climate Summit in Brazil.

In May 2025, Arunabha Ghosh, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of New Delhi (Delhi)-based Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), a leading Indian climate and energy think tank, has been appointed as the South Asia Envoy for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP-30), a United Nations (UN) climate conference, scheduled to be held in November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.


      - He is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee for Development Policy (UNCDP).

      - He is among the ten international envoys appointed to represent strategic global regions.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Arunabha Ghosh will play a crucial role in facilitating dialogue and ensuring that South Asian perspectives are strongly voiced and advocated at the global climate summit.

      (ii) These envoys will serve on a voluntary and personal basis, acting as key conduits for information flow and regional perspectives, ensuring quicker and more effective international communication.
