According to official data released by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) in May 2025, India’s 12 major ports recorded a 4.3% rise in cargo handling—from 819 Million Tonnes (MT) in Financial Year 2023-24 (FY24) to approximately 855 MT in FY25.
