Virat Kohli Announces Retirement from Test Cricket After 14 Glorious Years.

On May 12, 2025, renowned Indian cricketer Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket, drawing curtains on a remarkable 14-year journey in the longest format of the game with immediate effect.


      - He will, however, continue to represent India in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) In 2018, Virat Kohli was honoured with the ICC Test Player of the Year award for his outstanding performance in Test cricket.

      (ii) He received the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2012, 2017, and 2018.

(iii) Kohli was named ICC Cricketer of the Year in both 2017 and 2018, recognizing his dominance across all formats during that period.
