"Operation Sindoor Launched: Indian Armed Forces Strike Back After Pahalgam Terror Attack".

National

In May 2025, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor', a strategic and targeted military response aimed at neutralizing nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These camps had been identified as active launchpads for terror activities being plotted against India.

      - The operation was executed in retaliation to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April 2025—an incident described as one of the most devastating attacks since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

      - The name "Sindoor" was chosen as a tribute to the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack, symbolizing their sacrifice and resilience.

      - The Indian Armed Forces struck nine specific locations linked to terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). All operations were conducted with surgical precision, ensuring that Pakistani military installations were avoided.

Main Point :-   (i) The strikes were carried out without crossing the Line of Control (LoC), showcasing India’s strategic and technological capabilities. Frontline aircraft such as the Rafale, Mirage 2000, and Su-30 MKI were deployed by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to execute the mission.

(ii) Marking a significant moment in Indian military history, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh co-led the official media briefing on Operation Sindoor, representing the growing role of women in India’s defense leadership.

(iii) Operation Sindoor stands as a symbol of India's resolve to combat cross-border terrorism while honoring the memory of its fallen soldiers and their families.
