Shaleen Toshniwal Takes Over as 20th Chairman of MATEXIL (Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council).

In April 2025, Shaleen Toshniwal assumed charge as the 20th Chairman of the Mumbai (Maharashtra)-based Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL), an apex body dedicated to promoting exports of fibres, yarns, fabrics, made-ups, and technical textiles from India.


      He succeeds Bhadresh Dodhia, who served as Chairman since 2023. Before taking over this role, Shaleen Toshniwal held the position of Vice Chairman at MATEXIL.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) Shaleen Toshniwal is currently serving as the Joint Managing Director (MD) of Banswara Syntex Limited, a prominent name in the Indian textiles sector. With a career spanning more than 23 years, he has amassed deep expertise and insights in the field of textiles and clothing, positioning him as a seasoned professional in the industry.

      (ii) His core areas of specialization include synthetic dyed spinning, woven and knitted fabric manufacturing, as well as garment production. This diverse experience equips him with the technical and strategic knowledge required to effectively lead MATEXIL and contribute to the growth of India’s manmade and technical textile exports.

(iii) Established in 1954, MATEXIL, formerly known as the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), is one of the oldest export promotion councils in India, working under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
