In April 2025, Indian Railways (IR), under the Ministry of Railways (MoR), and the Delhi-based Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the procurement and installation of Automatic Wheel Profile Measurement Systems (AWPMS) at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • - This initiative supports IR’s broader objectives under the Mission Raftar and Kavach schemes to ensure faster and safer rail transport. As per the agreement, DMRC will handle the procurement, supply, installation, and commissioning of four AWPMS units for Indian Railways.
