Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh Unveils CSIR-NAL's Indigenous Trainer Aircraft 'HANSA-3 (NG)' to Strengthen India's Pilot Training Infrastructure.

On 4 April 2025, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science & Technology (MoS&T), launched the indigenously developed 'HANSA-3 (Next Generation or NG)' trainer aircraft at the National Media Centre (NMC), New Delhi. He also announced the plan to involve private sector participation in the aircraft’s manufacturing process.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The two-seater trainer aircraft has been fully indigenously designed and developed by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL), based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
  • - This launch marks the first time an aircraft will be manufactured in India using completely indigenous design and technology.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) During the launch event, CSIR-NAL signed a Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement with Mumbai-based M/s Pioneer Clean Amps Private Limited.
  • (ii) The agreement covers manufacturing, commercialization, marketing, and after-sales support for the HANSA-3 (NG) aircraft.
  • (iii) Initially, M/s Pioneer Clean Amps will manufacture 36 aircraft per year, with plans to increase capacity to 72 units annually to cater to both domestic and export markets.
