Union MoS Pankaj Chaudhary Leads Celebrations of 69th ED Foundation Day in New Delhi.

On May 1, 2025, Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, presided over the 69th Foundation Day of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi, emphasizing the agency’s strengthened role in combating financial crimes.


      - The event witnessed the presence of several senior dignitaries, including S.V. Raju, Additional Solicitor General; Rahul Navin, Director of the Enforcement Directorate; Special Directors Subhash Aggarwal and Prashant Kumar; and Naval Kishore Ram, Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

      - the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Established on May 1, 1956, the Enforcement Directorate operates under the Union Ministry of Finance. It is tasked with enforcing key financial laws, including the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002; the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, 2018; and the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Union Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary also unveiled the Enforcement Directorate's Annual Report for the Financial Year 2024–25 (FY25), which outlines a marked rise in the agency’s efforts to counter financial crimes across the country.

      (ii) During the event, 23 officers and zonal units were recognized for their exceptional service: Abhishek Goyal, former Special Director of ED, was awarded the President's Medal for Meritorious Service. Officials from various regions were honoured for their excellence in intelligence gathering, investigations, and field operations.
