Bhuvnesh Kumar Appointed CEO of UIDAI and K.K. Pathak Designated Additional Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat.

Appointment

In April 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, made major senior-level key bureaucratic changes across ministries and departments, particularly in the Cabinet Secretariat (CS) and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), with an aim to reinforce administrative efficiency and align governance priorities with emerging challenges and opportunities.


      - Senior bureaucrat Bhuvnesh Kumar, a 1995 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh (UP) cadre, has been named as the full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UIDAI.

      - He was earlier appointed as the part-time CEO of UIDAI in January 2025. He previously served as Additional Secretary (AS) in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), a position now replaced by Amitesh Kumar Sinha, a 1997 Indian Railways Account Service (IRAS) officer.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Senior IAS officer Abhishek Singh, a 1995 batch officer from Nagaland cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and will also hold the additional charge as Additional Secretary of MeitY.

      (ii) Keshav Kumar Pathak, a senior IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary (AS) in the Cabinet Secretariat (CS).
