Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra Modi, undertook a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from April 22-23, 2025, at the invitation of Crown Prince and PM of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. PM Modi received a grand welcome with a 21-gun salute upon his arrival at the airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
- This marked PM Modi's third visit to Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two nations.
- It also marked his 15th official trip to the Gulf region since assuming office in 2014.
Main Point :- (i) During the visit, PM Narendra Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held official talks and co-chaired the second meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC).
(ii) The SPC decided to establish a new Ministerial Committee focused on Defence Cooperation, Tourism, and Cultural Cooperation.
(iii) India and Saudi Arabia signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during PM Modi's visit, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
