App and Web Portal

In April 2025, Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), launched the 'Electronic Solutions for Enabling Health Access Through Technology (e-SEHAT)' Application. This comprehensive digital healthcare platform is designed to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of medical services across the region.

      - The e-SEHAT App supports tele-diagnosis and remote healthcare, allowing patients to consult with doctors virtually. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals in remote or rural areas where physical access to medical facilities is limited.

      - A robust hospital networking and referral system is integrated within the app. This allows patients to be quickly and efficiently referred to appropriate hospitals, especially in emergencies, ensuring prompt care and support.

      - The app also provides detailed information on government-sponsored health insurance schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), helping users understand their benefits and entitlements.

Main Point :-   (i) Additionally, the e-SEHAT App plays a significant role in skill development and training. It offers modules on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), vital for both healthcare workers and the general public.

(ii) The app hosts Continuing Medical Education (CME) and training workshops for healthcare professionals to stay updated on the latest medical practices and innovations, ensuring better service delivery.

(iii) Overall, the launch of the e-SEHAT App marks a major step forward in digitizing healthcare in Jammu & Kashmir, bridging the urban-rural health divide, and empowering both providers and beneficiaries with accessible, reliable medical services.
