Indian Army Concludes ‘ARMEX-24’ High-Altitude Adventure Expedition in Sikkim.

The Indian Army (IA) successfully concluded ARMEX-24, a 28-day high-altitude adventure expedition, on April 14, 2025, showcasing the endurance, leadership, and operational readiness of IA personnel under extreme environmental conditions.
- The mission, including acclimatization, was conducted from March 22 to April 14, 2025, covering a total distance of 146 kilometres (km) — beginning in the dense jungles of Northern West Bengal and culminating in the snow-covered heights of Sikkim.
Main Point :- (i) A dedicated team of 20 military personnel was selected based on physical fitness, mental toughness, and team coordination.
(ii) The team undertook 18 days of intense trekking (excluding 10 days of acclimatization), traversing challenging terrains with steep gradients, unpredictable weather, and rugged mountain trails.
(iii) The expedition route witnessed dramatic altitude transitions, ranging from sub-tropical forests to regions over 14,000 feet, pushing the soldiers to operate effectively in low-oxygen, high-stress environments, thereby testing their physical endurance and psychological resilience.
