Sourav Ganguly Reappointed as Chairperson of ICC Men’s Cricket Committee.

In April 2025, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was recently reappointed as the Chairperson of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's Cricket Committee. He replaced Anil Kumble, who completed the maximum allowed tenure of three consecutive three-year terms.


      - The ICC Men’s Cricket Committee plays a significant role in shaping the game’s regulations, playing conditions, and overall development strategies. Ganguly’s leadership is expected to guide the committee in refining and modernizing cricket policies globally.

      - The committee also includes several notable former international cricketers, such as VVS Laxman (India), who was reappointed, Hamid Hassan (Afghanistan), Desmond Haynes (West Indies), Temba Bavuma (South Africa’s Test and ODI captain), and Jonathan Trott (former England batsman).

     

Main Point :-   (i) Additionally, the ICC Women's Cricket Committee was reconstituted, with Catherine Campbell (New Zealand) reappointed as Chair.

      (ii) Other newly included members are Avril Fahey (Australia) and Pholetsi Moseki (Cricket South Africa).
