India and Italy Strengthen Bilateral Ties During Deputy PM Antonio Tajani’s Official Visit from April 11–12, 2025.

The Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, was on an official 2-day state visit to India from April 11 to 12, 2025.

- He was accompanied by Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of University and Research, and a high-level delegation comprising business leaders, academic institutions, and research organisations.
- During the visit, Deputy PM Antonio Tajani called on the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, and discussed the strengthening of bilateral ties between India and Italy.

(i) On April 11, 2025, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal, and Antonio Tajani jointly co-chaired the 1st India-Italy Business, Science and Technology Forum in New Delhi.
(ii) On the same day, Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of University and Research (Italy), called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science and Technology (India), in New Delhi.
(iii) During this meeting, both ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral collaboration in the fields of science and technology.
