India and Russia Hold 8th Working Group Meeting on Priority Investment Projects in New Delhi.

In April 2025, the 8th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Priority Investment Projects (IRWG-PIP) under the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation was held in New Delhi, Delhi.
- The session was co-chaired by Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoC&I), representing the Government of India (GoI), and Vladimir Ilichev, Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Economic Development, Government of Russia.
- Additionally, the 2nd edition of the India-Russia Investment Forum was organised on the sidelines of the session in New Delhi.
Main Point :- (i) During the WG meeting, India and Russia agreed on 6 new strategic projects to enhance bilateral investment cooperation. The co-chairs of the session also signed a protocol highlighting these projects' strategic importance and reviewed the outcomes of the 7th session of IRWG-PIP. These initiatives aim to strengthen mutual investments, sector-specific partnerships, and deepen economic ties.
(ii) Both countries discussed initiatives to bolster their bilateral economic ties, reaffirming their commitment to expand investment collaboration across key sectors.
(iii) The India-Russia Investment Forum 2025 was organized by Invest India (Delhi), under the DPIIT (MoC&I), in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) (Kolkata) and the Ministry of Economic Development, Russia. The forum saw strong participation from over 80 stakeholders, including business leaders, financial institutions, logistics firms, trade bodies, and senior officials from both countries.
