On April 10, 2025, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), inaugurated the state-of-the-art Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) Laboratory at the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), located at Udaan Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • - Commonly referred to as the 'Black Box Lab,' the facility has been established with an investment of Rs 9 crore and supported by Bengaluru-based Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
  • - The Minister also launched the ‘Career Guidance Programme’ in Aviation at the Indian Aviation Academy, New Delhi.

  • (i) This initiative aims to educate Class 11 and 12 students about career prospects in aviation, including roles such as pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft designers, and airport managers.
  • (ii) Additionally, Mahindra Aerostructures Private Limited (MASPL), a Bengaluru-based unit of Mahindra & Mahindra, secured a contract from Airbus Helicopters, a division of France-based Airbus, to manufacture and assemble the main fuselage of the H130 helicopter.
