PM Narendra Modi Launches ₹8,300 Crore Worth of Development Projects in Tamil Nadu.

In April 2025, the Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several rail and road development projects worth over ₹8,300 crore in Rameswaram, located in Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu (TN).


      - These projects underline the Government of India’s (GoI) continued focus on infrastructure modernization and economic growth in Tamil Nadu.

      - PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the New Pamban Rail Bridge, India’s first vertical lift sea bridge, which connects Rameswaram Island to Mandapam on the mainland.

      - This new structure replaces the old British-era bridge and serves as a major milestone in coastal connectivity.

Main Point :-   (i) PM Modi flagged off a new train service between Rameswaram and Tambaram (Chennai), strengthening regional rail connectivity and boosting local mobility.

      (ii) The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone and dedicated completed infrastructure projects under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Tamil Nadu, with a total investment exceeding ₹8,300 crore.
