Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi Appointed as President of Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Appointment

In April 2025, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Chairman of the Lahore (Pakistan)-based Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was recently appointed as the new Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), held virtually.


      - He will serve a two-year term beginning on April 3, 2025.

      - He succeeded Shammi Silva of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), who had taken over the ACC presidency in December 2024 following Jay Shah from India.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Naqvi’s first major assignment as ACC Chairman will be overseeing the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled for September 2025.

      (ii) In addition to his cricketing role, he currently serves as Pakistan's Interior Minister and has been heading the PCB since February 2024.
