In March 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi announced 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' as the theme for the 2025 International Day of Yoga (IDY).

  • - The first-ever IDY was observed on June 21, 2015, to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing Yoga, a 5,000-year-old ancient practice that originated in India.
  • - The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of Ayush, has been tasked with organizing large-scale celebrations for International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025.

Yoga Maha Kumbh, a week-long festival across 10 locations, will culminate in a central celebration led by the Prime Minister.
