International Transgender Day of Visibility Observed on 31 March 2025.

Important Days

International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is celebrated annually on March 31 to honor the courage, resilience, and achievements of transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming individuals. The day highlights their contributions across cultures and countries worldwide. It also aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the transgender community, including poverty, discrimination, and violence, while advocating for their rights and protection.

      - The day encourages visibility for transgender people, offering a platform to acknowledge their struggles and progress. It emphasizes the need for societal acceptance and legal protection for transgender individuals.

      - The transgender pride flag, designed by American activist Monica Helms in 1999, symbolizes transgender diversity and rights. The flag consists of five horizontal stripes, with pink and blue representing traditional colors for girls and boys, and a white stripe in the middle symbolizing people who are intersex, transitioning, or without a defined gender.

      - The observance of TDOV serves as a reminder to continue advocating for equality and fairness for the transgender community globally.
