Union Cabinet Approves Key Proposals, Including ₹22,919 Crore ECMS & ₹37,216 Crore Fertilizer Subsidy.

On March 28, 2025, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, approved the following proposals/schemes:


      - Approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) with a total outlay of ₹22,919 crore to strengthen India's self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) in the electronics supply chain.

      - Approved the release of an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners, effective from January 1, 2025.

      - Approved a ₹37,216 crore subsidy on Phosphatic and Potassic (P&K) fertilizers for the Kharif season of 2025.

Main Point :-   (i) Approved the construction of a 4-lane access-controlled greenfield and brownfield Patna-Arrah-Sasaram corridor (National Highway (NH)-119A), connecting Patna to Sasaram in Bihar under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).

      (ii) Approved the inclusion of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State Link Project of Bihar under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana-Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (PMKSY-AIBP), with a total outlay of ₹6,282.32 crore.
