Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Signs MoU with BISAG-N to Enhance Geo-Spatial Audits.

MOUs and Agreement

In March 2025, New Delhi (Delhi)-based Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gandhinagar (Gujarat)-based Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to modernize audit processes using advanced technologies.


      - The MoU was signed by Deputy CAG S Ramann and BISAG-N Director General (DG) TP Singh in the presence of CAG Sanjay Murthy.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) The agreement aims to enhance audit capabilities by leveraging advanced technologies, particularly geo-spatial tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and big data analytics.

      (ii) The collaboration with a technically self-reliant organization like BISAG-N will not only strengthen audit capabilities but also highlight the technological expertise of public institutions. This product has been developed as part of the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative.

(iii) According to the agreement, both organizations have agreed to develop a customized platform for audit analysis by leveraging geo-spatial data and other relevant data from the Prime Minister (PM)-GatiShakti pipeline.
