In March 2025, New Delhi (Delhi)-based Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gandhinagar (Gujarat)-based Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to modernize audit processes using advanced technologies.

  • - The MoU was signed by Deputy CAG S Ramann and BISAG-N Director General (DG) TP Singh in the presence of CAG Sanjay Murthy.

  • (i) The agreement aims to enhance audit capabilities by leveraging advanced technologies, particularly geo-spatial tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and big data analytics.
  • (ii) The collaboration with a technically self-reliant organization like BISAG-N will not only strengthen audit capabilities but also highlight the technological expertise of public institutions. This product has been developed as part of the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative.
  • (iii) According to the agreement, both organizations have agreed to develop a customized platform for audit analysis by leveraging geo-spatial data and other relevant data from the Prime Minister (PM)-GatiShakti pipeline.
