Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy Presents ₹32,423.44 Crore State Budget for FY 2025-26.

In March 2025, Tripura’s Finance Minister (FM) Pranajit Singha Roy presented the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 (FY 26), proposing a total expenditure of ₹32,423.44 crore. The budget size has increased by ₹4,618.77 crore compared to the previous year.
- The Tripura government also announced a 3% Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for state employees, effective April 2025, raising their DA to 33%.
- The Budget Estimates (BE) for FY 25 stood at ₹27,804.67 crore, later revised to ₹30,296.50 crore in the FY 25 Revised Estimates. The budget deficit stands at ₹429.56 crore.
- The budget introduces 13 new welfare schemes aimed at supporting job seekers and mentally challenged individuals. The highest allocation of ₹6,450 crore has been made to the finance department.
Main Point :- (i) Major infrastructure projects include: Establishment of new police stations in West Agartala, East Agartala, Belonia, Baikhora, Bagbassa, and Madhupur in Tripur.
(ii) A 'Bharat Mata Canteen cum Night Shelter' in Agartala, Tripura, with an initial budget of ₹2 crore, to provide convenience for visitors.
