India Secures Double Victory at Kabaddi World Cup 2025 in the UK.

In March 2025, India secured both the Men's and Women's Kabaddi World Cup (KWC) 2025 titles in Wolverhampton, UK. The Men's team won a thrilling final against England 44-41, while the Women's team dominated with a 57-34 victory over England.
- The Indian Women's team was led by Captain Ritu Negi, while the Men's team was captained by Pawan Sehrawat, both playing crucial roles in securing the titles.
- The 2nd edition of the Kabaddi World Cup took place from March 17 to 23, 2025, featuring over 60 matches. For the first time, the event was hosted outside Asia, with games held in Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall, and Wolverhampton.
- The 2025 KWC received support from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and its Commonwealth Games Major Events Legacy Fund. It was sponsored by Irish gambling company Paddy Power and received an additional GBP 500,000 from WMCA along with backing from the University of Wolverhampton.
Main Point :- (i) The first Kabaddi World Cup was organized by the World Kabaddi Federation (WKF) in Malaysia in 2019, where India also won both the Men's and Women's titles, defeating Iraq and Chinese Taipei, respectively.
(ii) The Men's competition had 10 teams divided into Group A and Group B. India, in Group B, competed against Italy, Scotland, Wales, and Hong Kong. The Women's event featured six teams, with India in Group D alongside Wales and Poland.
(iii) March 24 is celebrated as World Kabaddi Day, marking the founding of the World Kabaddi Federation in 2018.
