Ashok Singh Thakur Elected as Chairman of INTACH.

In March 2025, New Delhi (Delhi)-based Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) elected Ashok Singh Thakur as its new Chairman for a three-year term during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at its headquarters in New Delhi.


      - The elections, conducted for the posts of Chairman and Governing Council members, followed due procedure, with results declared post-AGM.

      - Ashok Singh Thakur’s appointment aligns with INTACH’s mission to address challenges in heritage conservation through policy advocacy, research, and community engagement.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Established in 1984, INTACH is India’s foremost heritage conservation organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

      (ii) The organization operates nationwide, collaborating with government bodies and civil society to protect historical monuments, artifacts, and ecosystems.

(iii) The INTACH Charter, adopted in 2004, serves as a foundation document guiding heritage conservation in India.
