In March 2025, Veteran Indian Actor and Padma awardee, Konidela (K) Chiranjeevi was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Public Service through Cultural Leadership by Bridge India during a ceremony held at the United Kingdom (UK) Parliament, known as the House of Commons, in London, UK.


      - The event was organised by British-Indian Member of Parliament (MP), Navendu Mishra.

      - K. Chiranjeevi has an extensive career spanning over 40 years in Indian cinema, having worked in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. Some of his notable works include: Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, among others.

      - He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India's 3rd highest civilian award, in the category of 'Arts' in 2006.

Main Point :-   (i) In May 2024, Konidela (K) Chiranjeevi was bestowed with the Padma Vibhushan, India's 2nd highest civilian award, in the field of Arts for his contributions to Indian cinema.

      (ii) He started his political career in 2008 with the launch of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) and later merged PRP with the Indian National Congress (INC) in February 2011. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) from 2012 to 2018.

(iii) He also served as the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Tourism with Independent Charge (IC) from 2012 to 2014.
