In March 2025, New Delhi (Delhi)-based Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) partnered with Bengaluru (Karnataka)-based Sarvam Artificial Intelligence (Sarvam AI), an indigenous full-stack Generative AI (GenAI) company, to enhance the Aadhaar system’s user-friendliness, security, and accessibility for citizens.

  • (i) Sarvam AI will deploy its AI solution to facilitate voice-based interactions with Aadhaar number holders, offering near real-time feedback on enrollment and update processes, including detecting any overcharging by service providers.
  • (ii) The agreement includes fraud detection, where real-time alerts will be sent to Aadhaar number holders if any suspicious activity is detected during authentication.
  • (iii) The AI solution will support 10 languages, including Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, and Malayalam, with plans for additional language options in the future.
