Former Cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth Named Goodwill Ambassador for VISION 2020 India.

On March 19, 2025, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, former captain of the Indian national cricket team, was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for VISION 2020 India, a national initiative dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness and visual impairment across India.


      - The announcement was made at an event hosted by Sankara Nethralaya, a renowned eye care institution in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN), which is an integral member of VISION 2020 India.

      - VISION 2020: The Right to Sight - India is a national initiative aimed at eradicating avoidable blindness and visual impairment throughout India.

      - VISION 2020 India addresses the significant public health issue of blindness in India, with around 5 million blind individuals, 80% of whom have avoidable cases. The initiative provides free eye check-ups, surgeries, and vision correction services to underserved communities.

Main Point :-   (i) On March 18, 2025, Goibibo, an online travel platform based in Gurugram, appointed Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant as its new brand ambassador

      (ii) Rishabh Pant will feature alongside cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar in Goibibo’s latest campaign, highlighting the joy and adventure of travel.
