India concluded the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 held in Turin, Italy, securing an impressive 33 medals: 8 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze. The country earned 10 medals each in Snowshoeing and Alpine Skiing, 6 in Snowboarding, 4 in Short-track Speed Skating, 2 in Cross-Country Skiing, and 1 in Floorball. On the final day, March 15, 2025, Indian athletes clinched 12 medals across four events.
- The 12th edition of the Special Olympics World Winter Games was held from March 8 to 15, 2025, marking Italy's first time hosting the event.
- Over 1,500 athletes from 100 countries competed in 8 sports, including Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, DanceSport, Figure Skating, Floorball, Short Track Speed Skating, Snowboarding, and Snowshoeing.
Main Point :- (i) Vasu Tiwari, Shalini Chauhan, and Tanya earned silver in the 25-meter Snowshoeing event, while Jahangir added a bronze.
(ii) Radha Devi and Nirmala Devi clinched silver medals in Intermediate Slalom, F01 and F04 categories, respectively. Abhishek Kumar also secured a silver in the Novice Slalom, M02 category.
