Fisheries Startup Conclave 2.0 Held in Hyderabad, Telangana and NFDP App Launched.

In March 2025, the Department of Fisheries (DoF), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying (MoFAH&D), hosted the Fisheries Startup Conclave 2.0 in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event aimed to promote entrepreneurship, technological advancements, and sustainability in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.


      - The conclave saw the launch of two significant initiatives: Fisheries Startup Grand Challenge 2.0 and the National Fisheries Development Platform (NFDP) mobile application (app).

      - Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), MoFAH&D and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), inaugurated the conclave, alongside Union Minister of State (MoS) Prof. S.P. Singh Bhagel, MoFAH&D and MoPR, and Professor Ramesh Chand, Member of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Fisheries Startup Grand Challenge 2.0: Launched to support emerging enterprises/startups in manufacturing and related fields within the fisheries sector, with 10 winning startups receiving Rs 1 crore in funding.

      (ii) The NFDP mobile app is designed to simplify access to various Government of India (GoI)-led schemes, specifically benefiting startups and stakeholders in the fisheries sector.
