On 06 March 2025, Australian Tennis Icon and Dual Grand Slam Champion Frederick Sydney Stolle, nicknamed "Fiery Fred" or "Fiery," passed away at the age of 86. He was born on 8 October 1938 in Hornsby, New South Wales, Australia. He reached world No. 1 in 1966 after defeating Australian former tennis player John Newcombe in the final of the United States Open Championship (US Open).


      - He won the Grand Slam singles titles at the French Open in 1965 and the US Open in 1966.

      - In doubles, he dominated by winning 10 Grand Slam men's doubles titles, including 4 French Open titles, 3 Wimbledon titles, 2 United States (US) Open titles, and 1 Australian Open title.

      - He also secured 7 mixed doubles majors, including 3 French Open titles in 1961, 1962, and 1969, partnering with Lesley Turner Bowrey and Margaret Court.

Main Point :-   (i) He contributed to Australia's success in the Davis Cup by helping the team win 3 consecutive titles from 1964 to 1966.

      (ii) As a coach, he guided Vitas Gerulaitis to the 1977 Australian Open title and served as a broadcaster for over 50 years with Australia's Nine Network and U.S. broadcasters Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) and Fox Sports.
