On 6th March 2025, Munich (Germany)-based Infineon Technologies AG, a global leader in power systems and Internet of Things (IoT) semiconductors, signed its first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Delhi (Delhi)-based Continental Device India Limited (CDIL), India's first semiconductor manufacturer.

  • (ii) The key focus areas for this collaboration include Automotive and Mobility, which covers power semiconductors for EVs, charging infrastructure, and automotive electronics; Renewable Energy, with chips for solar inverters, wind turbines, and grid management systems; and Industrial and Consumer Applications, including energy-efficient solutions for appliances, industrial automation, and IoT devices.
  • (iii) Additionally, the partnership lays the groundwork for future innovation in Silicon Carbide (SiC) and advanced semiconductor technologies. Furthermore, Kyoto (Japan)-based Horiba, a leading provider of analytical and measurement solutions, has announced plans to establish a manufacturing unit in India, contributing to the country's growing semiconductor sector.
