NITI Aayog Unveils NITI-FTH & Publishes Paper on "Quantum Computing: National Security & Strategic Preparedness".

In March 2025, NITI Aayog launched the 'Frontier Tech Hub (NITI-FTH)', a transformative initiative aimed at making India a technology-driven economy. It focuses on advancing frontier technologies for India's economic and social development.


      - NITI-FTH will act as a technology action tank to promote cutting-edge technologies that contribute to human progress and environmental sustainability.

      - NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), released a strategic paper titled "Quantum Computing: National Security Implications & Strategic Preparedness."

     

Main Point :-   (i) The paper addresses the rapid progress of quantum computing and its implications for sectors such as defence, intelligence, and cybersecurity.

      (ii) The paper emphasizes the need for a proactive, multi-pronged approach to safeguard national security in the era of quantum computing.

(iii) The Government of India launched the National Quantum Mission (NQM) in 2023 with a budget of Rs.6,003 crore to develop an indigenous quantum technology ecosystem.
