MOSPI and MyGov Announce 'Innovate with GoIStats' Hackathon.

On February 25, 2025, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), in collaboration with MyGov, will launch the "Innovate with GoIStats" data-visualization hackathon from February 25 to March 31, 2025. The theme of the hackathon is "Data-Driven Insights for Viksit Bharat".

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The hackathon aims to encourage students and researchers across India to leverage official data provided by the National Statistics Office (NSO) to create innovative data-driven insights.
  • - Participants will explore and analyze official statistics from reports, microdata, and datasets available on MoSPI's website, including the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), Household Consumer Expenditure Survey (HCES), Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), Consumer Price Index (CPI), and Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
  • - The objective is to develop impactful visualizations that support evidence-based policymaking for a Viksit Bharat.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) The hackathon will be hosted on the MyGov platform and is open to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and research students.
  • (ii) A panel of experts from the industry and academia will evaluate the top 30 entries, with prize money for the winners.
  • (iii) The first prize will be Rs 2 lakh, two second prizes of Rs 1 lakh each, two third prizes of Rs 50,000 each, and twenty-five consolation prizes of Rs 20,000 each.
