In February 2025, Uttarakhand Finance Minister (FM) Premchand Aggrawal presented a comprehensive ₹1,01,175.33 crore Budget for the Financial Year 2025-26 (FY26) in the state assembly, emphasizing development in key sectors such as innovation, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, connectivity, tourism, and social welfare.


      - The budget follows the 'GYAN' model (Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata, and Naari), focusing on the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers, and women.

      - It has allocated ₹59,954.65 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹41,220.68 crore for capital expenditure, reflecting a 13% increase from the previous year's ₹89,000 crore budget.

      - The total receipts for 2025-26 are estimated to be around ₹1,01,034.75 crore, including ₹62,540.54 crore in revenue receipts and ₹38,494.21 crore in capital receipts.

Main Point :-   (i) The tax revenue within revenue receipts is projected at ₹39,917.74 crore, which includes the state’s share of ₹15,902.92 crore in central taxes, while non-tax revenue is expected to generate ₹22,622.80 crore.

      (ii) Additionally, total estimated revenue receipts from the state's own sources amount to ₹28,410.30 crore, with ₹24,014.82 crore from tax revenue and ₹4,395.48 crore from non-tax revenue.

(iii) The budget projects a revenue surplus of ₹2,585.89 crore for 2025-26, with a fiscal deficit estimated at ₹12,604.92 crore, accounting for 2.94% of the state's GDP.
