SSCB Dominates 38th National Games in Uttarakhand with 121 Medals.

The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) secured the top position at the 38th edition of the National Games, held in Uttarakhand from January 26, 2025, to February 14, 2025. SSCB won a total of 121 medals, including 68 gold, 26 silver, and 27 bronze. With this victory, SSCB continued its dominance in the National Games, topping the medal tally for the fifth time in the last six editions, except in 2023.


      - SSCB secured the Raja Bhalindra Singh Trophy, awarded to the team with the highest number of gold medals at the National Games.

      - Maharashtra secured 2nd place in the overall medal tally with 201 medals (54 gold, 71 silver, and 76 bronze), followed by Haryana in 3rd place with 153 medals (48 gold, 47 silver, and 58 bronze).

      - The event, themed 'Green Games,' emphasized sustainability with eco-friendly welcome kits, e-waste medals, and tree plantations for medalists.

Main Point :-   (i) The latest edition of the National Games witnessed the participation of over 16,000 athletes from 28 states, 8 Union Territories (UTs), and the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB). Competitions were held in 35 different sports, with 33 medal events, awarding a total of 448 gold, 448 silver, and 594 bronze medals.

      (ii) 14-year-old swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu from Karnataka and India's top backstroke swimmer Srihari Nataraj (Bengaluru, Karnataka) were honored as the Best Female Athlete and Best Male Athlete, respectively, at the 38th National Games.

(iii) Meghalaya is set to host the 39th edition of the National Games, tentatively scheduled for February or March 2027.
