The Indian Navy (IN) participated in the 'International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025' and the '5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo' in Bali, Indonesia, from February 15 to 22, 2025, with INS Shardul (Landing Ship Tank) and a P-8I Long-Range Maritime Surveillance Aircraft representing India.
- The International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025, reviewed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, brought together naval forces from multiple countries to enhance global maritime cooperation and security.
- As part of IFR 2025, IN participated in high-level discussions at the International Maritime Security Symposium, Tactical Floor Games, and joint environmental initiatives, including beach cleaning, coral and mangrove plantation, and baby turtle release.
- The 'Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2025' officially commenced on February 16, 2025, at Benoa Port, Bali, focusing on maritime interoperability, regional security cooperation, and disaster relief operations.
Main Point :- (i) The exercise saw participation from over 30 countries, including the USA, Russia, China, Australia, and Singapore, under the theme 'Maritime Partnership for Peace and Stability', emphasizing humanitarian aid, natural disaster response, and crisis management.
(ii) IN’s participation aligns with India’s 'Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)' vision, following its involvement in Exercise LA PEROUSE in January 2025, where INS Mumbai and a P-8I aircraft participated.
(iii) Strengthening bilateral naval ties, Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, visited India as part of a high-level delegation accompanying Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during the Republic Day Parade 2025.
