International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) is a global campaign observed every year on February 15 to raise awareness about childhood cancer. It highlights the unique challenges faced by children with cancer and shows support for children, adolescents, survivors, and their families who are fighting cancer.


      - The 3-year campaign for ICCD (2024-2026) focuses on addressing the difficulties faced by childhood cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, and healthcare professionals around the world.

      - The theme for ICCD 2025 is "Inspiring Action."

      - ICCD is an annual event established in 2002 by Childhood Cancer International (CCI), a global organization that brings together national and grassroots parent groups of children with cancer.

Main Point :-   (i) The first ICCD was held on February 15, 2002.

      (ii) The ICCD campaign is a joint effort between CCI and the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), also known as the Société Internationale d'Oncologie Pédiatrique (SIOP).

(iii) CCI is a global network of 183 organizations, including parent groups, survivor associations, support groups, and cancer societies, operating in 94 countries across 5 continents.
