The 9th Asian Winter Games (Harbin 2025), held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, from February 7 to February 14, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the advancement of winter sports across Asia. Organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and supported by the International Skating Union (ISU), the event witnessed participation from athletes representing 34 countries.

Main Point :- (i) India sent its largest-ever contingent of 59 athletes to the Asian Winter Games 2025. Although India ended its campaign without any medals, the athletes showcased significant potential. Tara Prasad, India's skater, delivered a personal best performance, securing 8th place in the women's skating event.
(ii) For the first time in the Asian Winter Games, Saudi Arabia participated in alpine skiing and snowboarding, while Cambodia made its debut in cross-country skiing, marking their historic entry into the competition.
(iii) Saudi Arabia officially received the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag as the host of the 10th Asian Winter Games (NEOM) 2029, making it the first country in West Asia to host the prestigious continental sporting event.
