Jotham Napat Assumes Office as Vanuatu's New Prime Minister.

In February 2025, Jotham Napat, 52, was elected as Vanuatu's Prime Minister (PM), receiving 50 votes in Parliament. He becomes the country's fifth PM in four years.


      - Napat leads a five-party coalition government, which includes his own Leaders Party (which secured nine seats in the January snap election), along with the Vanua'aku Party, Graon Mo Jastis Party, Reunification Movement for Change, and Iauko Group.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) Jotham Napat was Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanna since 2016; re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2025.

      (ii) He was also the President of the Leaders Party.

(iii) He headed the National Disaster Committee post-Cyclone Pam (2015).
