💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) The Government of India (GoI) approved the procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masur under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) up to 100% of state production for 2024-25 to boost domestic pulse production and reduce imports. The Union Budget FY26 extended this provision for four more years through Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs).
  • (ii) Launched in 2018, PM AASHA is an umbrella scheme aimed at ensuring remunerative prices for farmers and stabilizing essential commodity prices for consumers. The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) serves as the nodal agency.
