Indian Army and Indian Air Force Conduct Joint Airborne Operations Exercise ‘Ex Winged Raider’.

On February 9, 2025, the Indian Army (IA) conducted a significant training exercise, Ex Winged Raider, emphasizing specialized airborne operations. The exercise showcased high operational preparedness and seamless coordination between the IA and the Indian Air Force (IAF).


      - The exercise focused on executing various airborne insertion techniques using both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft to enhance the skills of participating personnel.

      - A key milestone in the Eastern Theatre was achieved with airborne operations conducted from the CH-47 Chinook Helicopter for the first time.

      - This training served as a vital platform for troops to enhance their operational capabilities, ensuring rapid deployment, mission readiness, and highlighting the crucial role of airborne forces in modern warfare for swift and decisive responses in diverse operational scenarios.

Main Point :-   (i) The joint operation demonstrated seamless coordination between the IA and IAF, highlighting the effectiveness of integrated training programs.

      (ii) This exercise reaffirmed both forces' commitment to maintaining a high level of preparedness to counter evolving security threats.

(iii) On February 9, 2025, IA Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and IAF Air Chief Marshal AP Singh undertook a historic flight together in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, India's single-engine multirole fighter aircraft.
