Deepak Kumar Kedia Honored with "CA in Public Service" Award by ICAI.

In February 2025, Deepak Kumar Kedia, Inspector General (IG) Headquarters, National Security Guard (NSG), was honored with the prestigious "CA in Public Service" Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for his exemplary contributions to public service, particularly in law enforcement and national security.
- He received the award at the World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) meet held at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention and Exhibition Centre (IICC) in New Delhi, Delhi.
- Previously, he was also honored with the esteemed 'President Medal for Distinguished Service' on the 76th Republic Day of India (January 26, 2025).
- Deepak Kumar Kedia is a 1999-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Assam cadre. Over the years, he has held several key positions in law enforcement and public administration, contributing significantly to national security and governance.
Main Point :- (i) Before joining the IPS, he worked with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) at its Rourkela Plant in Odisha, serving in the Finance and Accounts (F&A) Department. His financial expertise has complemented his role in law enforcement and public service.
(ii) Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including Superintendent of Police (SP) in Assam, Director (Left Wing Extremism) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Additional Director at the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Inspector General of Police (IGP) (Law & Order), Assam. His extensive experience has made him a prominent figure in national security and economic crime investigations.
(iii) ICAI hosted the World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) 2025 from January 31 to February 2, with the theme "Accountability Meets Innovation (AI): For A Sustainable Planet." The event was inaugurated by Union Minister Rajnath Singh, emphasizing the role of financial professionals in sustainability and innovation.
