In February 2025, the United States Navy (USN) announced the successful testing of the High-Energy Laser with Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance (HELIOS) system aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG-88) in open waters.
