The 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF 2025) took place from January 20-24, 2025, in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. The event was centered around the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age" and structured into five key sub-themes: Reimagining Growth, Industries in the Intelligent Age, Investing in People, Safeguarding the Planet, and Rebuilding Trust.
- The Indian delegation to WEF 2025 was led by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who oversees the Ministry of Railways (MoR), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
- Under the vision "One Nation, One Voice," he led India’s largest-ever delegation, comprising five Union Ministers, three Chief Ministers (CMs), and several other state leaders.
- 13 new industrial clusters from Australia, Brazil, Colombia, India (5), the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Thailand, and the UK have joined the WEF's Transitioning Industrial Clusters initiative, bringing the total to 33 across 16 countries and 5 continents.
Main Point :- (i) India slipped to 3rd place in the 25th Edelman Trust Barometer launched during WEF 2025, which measures trust in government, businesses, media, and NGOs. China ranked 1st, followed by Indonesia at 2nd place.
(ii) The 31st Annual Crystal Award honored architect Riken Yamamoto, designer Diane von Furstenberg, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham at WEF 2025 in Davos-Klosters.
