In January 2025, Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), was elected as a board member of the advisory board of the London-based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).


      - Jay Shah is one of the 13 founding members of the newly established advisory board of World Cricket Connects (WCC), which will be chaired by former Sri Lanka captain and MCC president, Kumar Sangakkara.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) The new advisory board of World Cricket Connects (WCC), which replaced the World Cricket Committee (WCC) formed in 2006, consists of 13 founding members.

      (ii) Notable members include Anurag Dahiya, Chief Commercial Officer of ICC; Chris Dehring, CEO of Cricket West Indies; Sourav Ganguly, former Captain of the Indian Men's Cricket Team; Graeme Smith, former South Africa Captain; Andrew Strauss, former England Captain and ECB Director; Sanjog Gupta, CEO of JioStar-Sports; Heath Mills, Executive Chair of the World Cricketers' Association; Trudy Lindblade, CEO of Cricket Scotland; Heather Knight, Women's Captain of England; Mel Jones, former Australian cricketer and broadcaster; and Imtiaz Patel, former chair of SuperSport.

(iii) The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) announced that the 2nd World Cricket Connects (WCC) forum will take place from June 7 to June 8, 2025, ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, UK.
