Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Marks 10 Years of Transforming Lives.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), a flagship initiative of the Government of India (GoI) aimed at securing the financial future of girl children in India, has successfully completed 10 years of implementation.


      - The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2015, as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign in Panipat, Haryana.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) As of November 2024, over 4.1 crore Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts (SSAs) have been opened under the SSY.

      (ii) Uttar Pradesh (UP) emerged as the largest contributor to the SSY, with 45 lakh accounts opened under the scheme, followed by Tamil Nadu (TN) with 30 lakh accounts and Bihar with 22 lakh accounts.
