NITI Aayog and NASSCOM Foundation have joined forces to digitally empower one lakh individuals.

MOUs and Agreement

In January 2025, NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) and the NASSCOM Foundation (National Association of Software and Service Companies) have teamed up to help one lakh people gain digital skills, aiming to bridge the digital divide.


      - This partnership is part of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) and is linked with the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan (PMGDISHA) initiative.

      - The project will primarily focus on marginalized groups, including women and tribal communities, to enhance their access to essential digital tools and e-governance services.

     

Main Point :-   (i) In the first phase, the program will focus on 60 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) blocks, promoting digital literacy and awareness of government schemes. Later, it will expand to cover all 500 aspirational blocks to ensure wider digital inclusion.

      (ii)The program will train people aged 12-60 in basic computer skills, cybersecurity, and internet usage.

(iii) Local community members will also be trained as digital ambassadors and trainers. They will conduct door-to-door campaigns and community outreach to raise awareness about the benefits of digital literacy and government schemes.
