On January 22, 2025, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, approved the following proposals:


      - The Union Cabinet reviewed the significant progress under the National Health Mission (NHM) from 2021-22 to 2023-24, highlighting milestones in improving India’s public health outcomes.

      - It highlighted a significant reduction in Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Under-5 Mortality Rate (U5MR), and Total Fertility Rate (TFR).

      - The Cabinet also approved the continuation of NHM for the next five years.

Main Point :-   (i) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved the MSP for raw jute (TD-3 grade) at ₹5,650 per quintal for the 2025-26 marketing season.

      (ii) This marks an increase of ₹315 per quintal (6%) compared to the MSP for the 2024-25 season.

(iii) These decisions reaffirm the government’s focus on enhancing public health outcomes and supporting farmers with fair and remunerative prices for their produce.
